Carters Lake

Carters Lake is a large reservoir located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northwestern Georgia, USA. It is formed by the Carter Dam on the Coosawattee River, and covers a surface area of 3,200 acres. The lake is managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers and is popular for camping, fishing, boating, and hiking. There are six campgrounds around the lake, including Tumbling Waters, Woodring Branch, Doll Mountain, Harris Branch, Ridgeway, and Cove. There are also several trails that offer scenic views of the lake, including the 20-mile long Carters Lake Trail. Fishermen can catch bass, walleye, bream, and catfish in the lake, and there are boat ramps and marinas for boaters. Carters Lake is one of the most scenic and popular destinations in northwest Georgia, known for its clear turquoise waters, rugged terrain, and stunning mountain views.
